100 miles in 100 days to support those living with Epilepsy Portsmouth, Hampshire

Challenge 100

We were delighted to support Michael Gill from Ziegler UK as he took on the Epilepsy Society's Challenge 100 - committing to complete 100 miles in 100 days!

Michael's youngest daughter, Emily, became seriously ill 14 years ago, suffering from a brain hemorrhage, and requiring two operations by the NeuroSurgical Team at Southampton General Hospital. One of the possible side effects of surgery on the brain is epilepsy, which Emily developed and now controls by daily drugs.

1 in 100 people in the UK are living with epilepsy currently and, on average, three people are diagnosed with epilepsy every day. One third of people with epilepsy do not have access to effective treatments.

In conversation over the Christmas period, Michael and Emily created a team of 9 members, each dedicated to the 'Challenge 100' to try and raise much needed funds for The Epilepsy Society!

"I'm taken aback by your donation, that is so incredibly kind of you! I've told Emily, my daughter, and she was a little bit speechless to be honest. Thank-you so much!"
Michael
