Siberian Larch is a slow growing, strong and dense softwood which can last up to 50 years when used as external cladding. It's high resin content makes it very durable compared to other softwoods and as a result is a popular choice for high quality softwood cladding. After installation it will weather to an attractive consistent silver/grey colour. The timber will react to changes in humidity between summer and winter and can move by up to 5mm and it is therefore best to be used with simpler moulding profiles such as half lap.
